Amazon Web Services opens Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore

On February 12, local time, Amazon Web Services opened its Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore. The new Asia Pacific center can accommodate up to 3,000 employees from more than 100 local and regional teams.

Earlier, Amazon announced in May last year that it would invest an additional S$12 billion (about US$8.8 billion) in Singapore’s cloud infrastructure between 2024 and 2028. The investment is expected to contribute approximately S$23.7 billion to Singapore’s GDP and support nearly 12,300 jobs.

Amazon currently has more than 2,500 employees in Singapore, covering cloud technology, enterprise, retail, technology and operations.
